Bows for Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass
We stock a selection of trade and handmade violin bows. We generally get our better bows by selecting them from stock shown by representatives, rather than simply taking whatever gets shipped to us. We'll pick a bow to match an instrument purchased here and to match the player's approach to the instrument as described. That's worked very well. We've stayed competitive by dropping our prices. Generally we charge 80% of the list price or less.
Current or nearly current list of BOWS IN STOCK - .pdf showing specificatiand prices for our other bows. NOTE: Some firms do not allow us to publish our prices – just call or email. Subject to constant change. No problem to order in bows.
Pernambuco wood comes from Brazil. That gives the Brazilian firms a certain advantage. On the other hand, European firms have unparalleled experience. Our current favorites include the ½ mounted Brazilian bows – they're surprisingly good – and the Coda Diamond line of composite US made bows. The Cadenza Master of carbon fiber covered with pernambuco veneer is also surprisingly good.
