We've been handling instruments from Eastman Strings for years
and are always impressed at the consistent tone, easy playability, and good looks of
their handmade products. They are widely recognized as a leading maker and
distributor of fine stringed instruments and bows ranging from fractional size instruments
for young beginners to outstanding master instruments and bows for advanced and
professional players. The Eastman line includes products from Eastern Europe,
Germany, and China.  All exhibit excellent materials and delightful hand craftsmanship.

All Eastman instruments spring from the hands of highly trained professional instrument
makers, rather than off the street factory workers or CNC machines.  Master makers
guide these talented and dedicated artisans in precisely the same manner as the
famous German and French workshops made them a century ago.

Eastman’s European instruments come from very traditional “cottage industry”
workshops, where specialists collaborate to create extremely consistent instruments to a
high standard.  This system developed in the Mittenwald and Klingenthal workshops of
the 17th century and continues today.  Eastman’s German (Klier, Wyss, Leonhardt) and
Romanian (Dunov) instruments have all final work and varnishing done in their Maryland
shop, ensuring complete consistency across the line.

Eastman’s Chinese line (Samual Eastman, Andreas Eastman, Master Series, Emiliani )
focuses on their own extensive workshop near Beijing.  This vertical integration ensures
a high degree of quality control and saves the cost of working through a middleman.
They pass the savings on to the consumer, ensuring excellent performance per dollar.

Eastman Strings brings the same attention to their line of fine bows.  Artisans hand craft
Eastman’s traditional wood bows in small master workshops from a mix of fine bow
woods to classic designs.  The more innovative K.Holtz and Cadenza bows use the
characteristics of modern materials to advantage, matching the weight, strength, and
suppleness of increasingly rare woods. Eastman Strings donates a percentage of the
proceeds from all bow sales to the important conservation efforts of the International
Pernambuco Conservation Initiative.

Gianna Violins stocks a select range of Eastman Strings fine instruments, bows, and
cases.  We generally set up the instruments ourselves, ensuring optimum performance
from these fine products.
Summary Tables
"I was stunned by the rich tone and gorgeous appearance of the Eastman Strings line of
instruments! Their violins deliver everything a professional musician desires. Even their
beginner models are a delight to play! I found these instruments to be truely 'player
friendly'. I strongly recommend musicians at all skill levels to check out the old-fashioned
quality at Eastman Strings."
